Is the Simone Rocha Brogue the shoe of next season? I’ve seen a few special shoe shapes backstage but none as original, so do you think I should just maybe admit it now? I’m beaten, this is the freshest shoe of the season for sure. The black brogue with the high perspex wedge in the first shot has topped of my lust list.

Elevating a classic masculine shoe into something feminine

The perspex heel idea is inspired. So what was the inspiration behind it Simone? ‘I wanted to incorporate the transparent element of the garments into the shoes, therefore integrating perspex into the brogue and elevating a classic masculine shoe into something feminine.’

Oh man, but she got it so right.

The shoe = 1, Gisèle = 0

Currently available in London at the John Rocha store, in Paris at Colette, Dublin at Havanna , in Tokyo at Sister, and Oak in New York and for a further list of stockists see under Bio here

A Morning With Paul Smith

P.S. (Just to say in the film that follows I didn’t really make the mistake of thinking that a hamster wrote a letter to Paul Smith).
