P.S. (Just to say in the film that follows I didn’t really make the mistake of thinking that a hamster wrote a letter to Paul Smith).

Wow. So honest. Thank You Gisèle. A rare look behind the scenes. I’ve always thought of most millionaires being more like Mr. Byrnes from the Simpsons. He’s so inspirational. It looks like you two had so much fun. I love his stripes loads. x Camilla

To hear him speak is very motivating yet grounding. For me, being a 21 year old student going into my final year of university, it is especially motivating. This time next year I will be entering the big bad world and hopefully making my own mark on the world and hearing how Paul Smith made his empire does of course motivate me but also scares me, just a little! I think success is measured differently by different people and for me success would be to find something that I love and that will take me places and will hopefully somewhere along the way receive a bit of recognition, hopefully! I would also love to inspire someone the same way people like Paul Smith inspire people all over the world. Of course I don’t expect to be of Paul Smith standard but I hope that I will be successful in some retrospect all the same. I love hearing how he didn’t fall to the trapping that can come with huge success, mainly a huge ego and a separation from reality (although I am quite fond of his mad streak!). I don’t come from a big city such as London, Paris, New York, Milan etc……and I find it so inspiring when I hear of people who have come from a small place (such as the fabulous Gisèle Scanlon of course!) and have had success in the fashion industry! jeees I am here unloading my inner most fears in this comment. I feel I should be lying on a chair in a freudian type situation revealing my inner thoughts to Dr.Scanlon! (maybe that’s why everyone advised you to become a doctor?!) Hope you are keeping well and as always thanks again! xx
(by the way, I think you made the right career choice!)

LOVE your comments and honesty as always B. Being so honest, I think you’re 3/4 ways to where you’re going. Don’t let the journey grind you down. xxG

G be careful what you say, your words carry huge power with me! Beyond kind sentiments such as that are going to cause my head to get so big I’ll have to butter my head through the door! There will be no living with me now! Your blog and books provide me with such inspiration (and one of the main things which make me happy!) that hopefully I can give a little something back in return! I wouldn’t want this relationship to be all one-sided now! póg mór! X

Fantastic! Inspiring! Down-to-earth! Classy! And I mean Paul Smith and Gisele Scanlon for her humble interview with the richest fashion designer in the UK.
Finally a blogger who takes the time to learn and capture the fashion talent she’s talking about.
Have any of you read the full interview below this film? It’s completely different and even more fascinating.
I know Gisele Scanlon has said before that her hero is Sir David Attenborough. I can see his level of research in her Paul Smith interviews. I think that this type of quality only comes with time. So refreshing to read someone who really knows what she’s talking about and is very humble about it all. Do you hear me Gisele? : ) x Freda

I wish you all the of , the loveliest blessings in life . everything your heart desires and all the unique experiences you dream of…..because your books have comforted me when nothing else could.Namaste Gisele!!! ..oh and ps.
