The moment I saw this girl, I grabbed one of my oldest cameras and captured what I think is a very modern interpretation of the word ‘pretty’.
This quickly taken quiet little grey moment is just a whisper
Maybe it all hinges on the way she has layered these subtle mouse grey tones; the colour acting as an ideal canvas to showcase all the different textures going on; her heavy socks against the tights and the textured crochet cut-out sandals edged with brown suede. It just works!
This quickly taken quiet little grey moment is just a whisper and I don’t know what to call it, is pretty the right word for this look? It’s quiet and clean, not overly complicated, a great transitional look if you’re not so keen on saccharine floral prints or screaming neon or stripes. Of course the word ‘pretty’ means something different to everybody…. Think I’ll stick with it for the moment, until a more interesting word comes along.

This photo is a really “pretty” photo to accompany a “pretty” post. In your blog loving post you said that you were fascinated by people who post those one shot post when they have found that one photo, I definitely think you have achieved that with this post! Her stance is so delicate, matching the materials and colours of her clothes. Delicate greys, with delicately sheer dress and soft socks and shoes to accompany. With thise photo there is no need for a huge amount of text, the photo speaks for itself! xx

Kind of in love with this look. Yes. I’m slowly transitioning to summer and haven’t thought about uncovering my legs. If my fiance can have a fauxhawk, then I can wear my lollipop shoes with socks hiding beneath. These grey light layers are ideal. Seriously love your posts. xx

Pretty is definitely the word, for me it feels like it’s capturing a moment of the 1950’s, from the texture of the photograph through to the crisp, clean and understated elegance. A beautiful photograph.
